The Maryland & West Virginia is now able to serve Montgomery #4 tipple at Jacob's Creek, WV. MOW crews repaired two malfunctioning turnouts, one at the entrance to the tipple and the second at the
company store. Foodstuffs and other goods should be deliverable shortly. Gas electric service will also be available for those miners not living on site. An extension of the tipple tracks is planned for the near future by both railroad and mining company officials, as well as a holding yard at the west end of the tipple, as the traffic generated is higher than first expected.
Montgomery Mining Company is also expecting delivery of a 44-ton diesel better suited for switching loads and empties than the M&WV's GP-9s and 0-6-0 switcher currently assigned to the task.
