I'm contemplating going DCC.
I had looked at it years ago, but then the price was too much - $500+ when I checked it out at train shows. I live in northern Canada and have never played with a DCC system - seen them only on large layouts at a Train Show.
I have a small 40" x 110" layout (thats a 4x8 rearranged) and so a small system would do fine. The NCE Commander, Zepher and Prodigy are under consideration. Looked at the Bachmann Dynomo but I don't think so. Also the Atlas one was considered but I've take it off the contenders list.
One thing I worry about is the challenge of putting decoders into N scale locomotives. I have one DCC equiped loco - a Bachmann 44 Tonner, they all come DCC instaulled. Have not even run that one at all.
