A massive Union Pacific 2-8-8-0 Bull Moose slowly makes its way onto the dual-track ballasted deck bridge that spans The Gorge on Jerry Peterson's Union Pacific/T. Roo layout. A Frisco Russian Decapod, operating as a foreign locomotive, crawls along the inside wall of The Gorge just minutes away from a spectacular over/under scene. High atop the inside wall, a 3-truck Shay is supporting the Vista Mesa logging operation on the T. Roo Railway. This photographer's dream is hard to find but well worth the effort. We were there, and our photos and story are this month's feature article beginning on page 34. Photo by Randy Lee. INSET: The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy had both Phase I and Phase 2 GP30s. Starting on page 22, Jim Six turns his attention to detailing and weathering a decorated Life-Like Proto 2000 CB&Q Phase 2 GP30 model. Photo by Jim Six.
