ABOUT THE COVER

In the spring of 2001, GM delivered five pre-production prototype SD70M locomotives with flared radiators to the Union Pacific. Steve Orth wasted no time in kitbashing one for himself in HO using the Athearn Genesis SD70M, parts from several aftermarket parts manufacturers and a number of scratchbuilt pieces. Turn to page 34 to learn more about these unique locomotives and how Steve built his model. Photo by Steven J. Orth. INSET: Starting on page 44 Art Fahie shares a conversation with George Sellios along with a presentation of more ofArts photos of the fabulous Franklin & South Manchester. Photo by Art Fahie.
