Check out this cool video from our friends at ERA films where they chase the intermodal train that's carrying the Daneburg Subdivision Layout!
It was announced by Mr. Soeborg and Trainlife.com in mid-October that Trainlife.com purchased the famous Daneburg Subdivision layout, featured in several Model Railroader articles and Kalmbach books. The layout was loaded into a 20-foot intermodal container, placed on a truck, transloaded to a ship that traversed the Panama Canal, offloaded onto a train and shipped to Salt Lake City where it was put on another truck to make the final leg to Provo Utah where it is now on public display at the Trainlife store.
Armed with the container's number, a friend (subscribe to his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/SconeEmpire ) and I met the train early in the morning of October 21st as it came into Salt Lake City, and upon identifying the container followed it to the Salt Lake Intermodal Terminal. It is appropriate that a Union Pacific-based layout would be shipped on a Union Pacific train.
